We are excited to be sponsoring this year’s Okehampton Show. The largest agricultural show in Dartmoor is holding its 117th event on the 14th August at Stoneypark.
Rosie Bracher Solicitors opened the doors to its Okehampton office in early 2024, headed by our own Dartmoor resident, Jade Payne. Since then, we have provided expert legal advice to the community, been involved in local events, and supported small businesses in the area.
As part of our commitment to supporting families and residents in Okehampton and beyond, we have chosen to sponsor the Craft Marquee, where visitors can stop and browse handmade cards, jewellery, soaps and more.
The Okehampton Show runs from 9AM to 5PM with traditional showing classes for Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Pigs and Horses starting in the morning. Local food, drinks, live music and entertainment will be available all day, including a family zone for child-friendly shows and activities.
The first annual Okehampton Show was held in 1891 and, after its long success, eventually outgrew its original location and moved to its current site, Stoneypark.
Selina Barrow, the Show Manager said:
“As you explore Okehampton Show you can find everything from traditional showing classes, to bubble artists and Morris Dancing teams. There’s entertainment all day long, with Falconry, Gun Dog Display, Dangerous Steve, and the not to be forgotten Fun Family Dog Show, which you can enter on the day from 12.15 at the entertainment ring.
Down the Showground, along our all-weather tracks you’ll find our family zone, where you can meet the Giant Tortoises, have a go at sports and craft activities with OCRA, scale Adventure Okehampton’s climbing wall and visit Farm West Educational trailer amongst others. Something for everyone!
