Legal Secretary / PA (Family Law) 
 
Award Winning Niche Family Law firms seeks an experienced Legal Secretary / PA at our Barnstaple office.

We are currently seeking a highly organised and details-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team to further support the Matrimonial and Finance department. 
 
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to our legal professionals and ensure the smooth operation of daily operations. 
 
You will need to show maturity, empathy and be able to provide “solution focused” guidance whilst supporting the solicitors with general case management. 
 
Applicants with a Law degree or LPC graduate, experience as a practiced paralegal will be considered for this role. Experience within family law/legal aid or equivalent environment is preferred but not essential. 
 
The successful candidate will: - 
• have experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role 
• be highly organised and systematic in your approach with the ability to prioritise and use your own initiative. 
• be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. 
• enjoy a fast-pace working environment. 
• have strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
• be able to multitask and prioritise workload effectively. 
• have a professional demeanour and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
• display confidence in using various ICT systems. 
 
Responsibilities include but do not exhaust:
• Manage solicitor calendars and assist with key date management for court deadlines and hearings 
• Preparing and formatting legal documents, including correspondence and court forms/portal both electronically and in a physical format 
• Organise and maintain legal documents, both electronically and in a physical format 
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and court appearances 
• Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, taking accurate information from clients and others, including phone calls and emails whilst ensuring prompt, accurate and professional communication. 
• Maintain confidential client information and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. 
• Assist with case management, booking and briefing barristers, client billing and payment processes.

Salary: £19,441.50-£26,000.00 per year. Depending on experience. 
Hours: Monday-Friday, 0900-1730.
